Disability Income Policy


1- Chances of a Loss – According to the Social Security Administration three in 10 workers entering the work force today will

become disabled before they retire. There is a greater likelihood that you will have a disability (30%) than you will have an auto

loss (.004%) or home insurance loss (.003%)

2- Coordinated Benefit Option – Policy provides a non-coordinated benefit, which means the base benefit you purchase will not be

6- Guaranteed – As long as premiums are paid, the policy will stay in force to age 67. Even if the insured changes to a more

hazardous job, he or she can have the original occupation class and the original policy. Once issued, coverage can not be

cancelled by Auto-Owners because of poor health, past claims or a more hazardous occupation.

7- Retroactive Waiver of Premium – There is an automatic waiver of premium built into the policy at no additional cost to the

insured. When a disability has lasted 90 days or longer, the policy remains in effect and the insured does not need to make

premium payments until the disability is over. Any premiums which were due and paid during that time would be refunded.

8- Partial Disability –A partial disability benefit is included at no additional cost which is equal to 50% of the total disability

monthly benefit. Partial disability must follow a period of total disability for which benefits were paid. .

9- Discounts – A Life Multi-Policy Discount is given on eligible personal and commercial lines policies also insured with

Auto-Owners. Personal Lines discount is 5% and commercial lines is 2% which is available in most states. A minimum $1,000

monthly benefit is required to receive the discount. For Incentive Travel, disability income policies with be credited with 1.5

application count.

10- Recurrent Disability – Automatically included at no additional cost. If disability recurs from the same or

related causes, it will be deemed a continuation of the previous disability unless you have been actively at work for six months

or more.
